New scanner joy

I have to share with you my excitement... My brother very knidly bought me a scanner printer copier for crimbo and I started using the scanner for the first time last night...


Old scan... wouldn't pick up the tone of the paper so I had to change levels to create a background even though as you can see on the next image the paper clearly has a lovely tone.


New scan... the new scanner picks up pencil marks and biro tone really well as well as giving me an acurate colour representation. So much sharper too.

This may not mean much to many people out there but it makes me very happy.

I'm such a nerd!

Welcome 2007

Hello and a Happy New Year to you! I thought I'd kick off 2007 postings with some older pieces along with some newer pieces, mainly to remind me of old success and to bring that into this year with me. The first image illustrates my continued interest in the relationship between nature and the urban environment, this is quite an iconic piece for me.



The second image is a poster I have been working on over christmas and is looking amazing (even if I do say so myself) I would also like to use is as a repeatable print this year when I finally get into the screen printing studio.



And the final image is the hand drawn text I did earlier last year, I would like to work more with illustrative typography this year.
