Pen drawn log drawing

Log drawing I made this week. These are logs in the local park I played in as a child, they are the only thing that has survived the test of time, all swings, slide and climbing castle has been removed. Even some of the logs have been taken away and filled with concrete.

Lower case leaf letters

Here is the lower case letters for my leaf font, lower case is a lot harder to draw than capitals.

Pencil drawn log

As I have been drawing a lot of tree bark drawings in pen recently I thought I'd have a change and draw with pencil, something I have not done in a long time. I think I need to keep up the practice and develop my own style of drawing with pencil. What I found most interesting was that pencil drawing is a much more organic free flowing drawing process than drawing with pen. Pen drawing is a more laboured process, I still love it though.

Gnarly log drawing

This is the next in my latest series of nature drawings, I am getting together a collection of images for an exhibition I hope to be doing later this year. Nothing is arranged yet but as soon as my collection is finished I will be getting on with the organisation side of things. So if anyone reading this knows of a good space for me to present my humble drawings then let me know.

Letter leaves alphabet

This is the font I made in response to the sketchbook drawings I had done a few weeks ago,( http://thequietrevolutionblog.blogspot.com/2007/02/sketchbook-pages.html ). And also a close up of the letter A so you can see the detailing. I am yet to fill in all the letters, as you can imagine it takes a long time to do but I am nearly there...

Tree bark drawing

New tree bark drawing I made yesterday, this one is to be a screen print very soon.

Grafik magazine

I just got my copy of this months Grafik magazine, which is quite exciting because I am featured in the talent section. Have a look...

Sketchbook pages

These are two sketchbook pages I made yesterday when I was meant to be doing something else. I'll call them not thinking pages... while I draw on these the theme tune from Tony Heart's heartbeat gallery plays in my head and thats about all that goes on in there... All nonsense aside I might make a large poster covered in small leaves when I finish my 'work' work.

Tree bark photo's

These are some of the main photo's I was using to draw from for my recent tree bark drawings.

This tree had wood worm I think...

This is the base of a hornbeam (I think)

I think this tree is next on my list to draw.

I love the knots and grains of the way this tree's bark looks.

Photo's of inspiration

These photo's really inspire me to do some more personal work, I keep coming across some amazing scenes in my everyday routines, the way light would hit a wall or the grain of the bark of a tree.

All Girl Skate Jam designs

I recently did some work for the All girl skate jam. They wanted some images for a pitch they were presenting to Vans. These were my designs for their pitch for t-shirts and shoes.

Tower block rock...

This is a bit of a re-cap for me but this is the tower block I made at the end of last year for my next moving image piece, I hope to do some stop motion animation with it. It's been hanging on my wall for months now waiting for me... I think I am about ready to start on it now.
