This is a few 'work in progress' images of a project I have been working on for some time now... at this point, yes, they are just birds... but what will they be doing...?

Bird of the Month - January

I know this is late, but I aim to draw a bird a month and this is January's bird, the long tailed tit. One of my favourite of the little garden birds, so delicate and beautiful almost oriental in it's decoration.

This will be sold as a limited edition print at OUTLINE EDITIONS next show:

Heron and Polar bear

Two of the drawings I have been working on, a few of the jobs I have completed recently have involved a lot of drawing but not really the kinds of things I really enjoy drawing so I thought as soon as I had a spare evening or a few hours late at night I would sit down in my comfy chair and just draw.

Your opinions needed! What do people like better? Giant Thunder birds with laser beams shooting from their eyes killing all in their path or without?

I was just sorting through a couple of old folders when I stumbled upon this little image. I don't think the job ever went through in the end but I still quite like this image...

Giant Great Tit on a rock

The fourth and final painting of this set is finished. Miniature landscapes and giant birds have been inspired by the small details of nature in my local urban environment in London. Bark that forms the shape of mountains and rocks and small plants that look like trees...

Long tailed log

This afternoons work... I've been saying to myself to ages that I wanted to do another watercolour bird painting and incorporate it into my newer line drawings... Something I can tick off my list!

Pokey bird

This is a drawing I have just finished of one of the stuffed birds in the natural history museum. Its a really strange pokey looking bird that I just had to draw. It will have colour in it eventually but it works in black and white for now, perhaps it shall go in my new zine I am putting together...
